There’s a new name at the top of the marketing team at Grupo Bimbo.
Eduardo Alvarez Franyutti has been named Global Chief Marketing Officer of Grupo Bimbo, stepping into the role after more than 20 years with Procter & Gamble.
He takes over from Alberto Levy, who is wrapping up a successful 12 year run as the company’s Global CMO.
For Bimbo, bringing in a marketer with Alvarez Franyutti’s P&G background is a pretty significant move. He brings more than two decades of experience building brands, understanding consumers and leading marketing teams at one of the biggest names in CPG.
And he isn’t the only new marketing talent joining the Bimbo family.
Alonso Gallegos recently announced that he has joined Bimbo Bakeries USA as Director of Marketing Strategy. Gallegos brings experience in brand growth, go to market strategy and consumer insights.
His announcement was especially personal. Gallegos shared memories of growing up with Bimbo brands, from Mantecadas on family road trips to Tía Rosa at family meriendas and Takis during movie nights and gatherings with friends.
That connection to the brands is part of what makes Bimbo such an interesting marketing story.
Alvarez Franyutti’s appointment brings a seasoned P&G brand builder to one of the world’s biggest bakery companies, while Gallegos adds another experienced marketing voice to the U.S. team.
