AdChat QuickChat™ Interview with Lola Lott & Jason Starne About ‘Tonic’ | Shot in Deep Ellum

Written by AdChat DFW

Tonic is simple in its story, but complicated in its execution. We follow Sebastian Poe, a low-life, drug-addled pianist who frequents numerous bars and music venues in a seedy part of town. We’re a fly on the wall with Sebastian every step of the way through his surreal, overnight odyssey. Poe is desperate to pay off his debt to a drug dealer, but he’s got to kill someone to break even.

Sebastian’s a normal guy with a simple life; he can be selfish, an anti-hero, but he’s not a killer.

Or is he?

The film was written and directed by Derek Presley with DFW-based production company, Muscular Puppy. Its Executive Producer is Lola Lott, a 30-year post and film production maven and owner of charlieuniformtango, a premiere Dallas post-production company. Jason Starne, a design and technical wizard with over 25 years in the biz, is the film’s Producer/Editor.

AdChat’s Patty Harrison had the opportunity to chat with Lola Lott and Jason Starne about this unique film shot in Dallas’s Deep Ellum neighborhood.
