Filmmaker Adam Rifkin is bringing his new western comedy Last Train to Fortune to Dallas for two special Q&A screenings at the Angelika Film Center, with Rifkin and star James Paxton in attendance.

The screenings are set for Wednesday, September 23 and Thursday, September 24 at 7 p.m. Both screenings will feature a Q&A with the filmmakers.

Set against the American frontier, Last Train to Fortune follows Cecil Peachtree (Malcolm McDowell), an uptight schoolteacher, and outlaw Jedidiah Dooley (James Paxton) as they make their way to the town of Fortune, where Peachtree has been hired as the new schoolmaster.

The unlikely pair encounter horse chases, saloon brawls, a jailbreak and plenty of trouble along the way, while the story explores the life-changing power of literacy and the idea that knowledge can open the door to all possibilities.

Rifkin, whose credits include The Last Movie Star, directs a cast that also includes Bernadette Peters, Mary Steenburgen and Laura Marano.

For Dallas film and production fans, the two screenings offer a chance to see the film and hear directly from the filmmaker and one of its stars.
