Raze Media Tells Us How GA4 Can Evolve Your Business

Written by AdChat DFW

Since 2005, Google created software to help businesses and other users collect data. Since then, there have been three versions of the software that have been released.

Urchin from Google was the original system used that tracked campaigns based on the number of visits. A few years later it updated to become Classic Google Analytics, which broke down into synchronous and asynchronous code. These codes were supposed to improve overall website performance. Later on, Universal Analytics came to be which integrated website traffic and user behavior. Now, Google has upgraded to Google Analytics 4 (GA4), and its benefits will be outlined below.

On July 1, 2023, Google officially made the switch from Universal Analytics to Google Analytics 4. This means that data will no longer be collected by the preceding versions of software, but only by the newest as of the 1st. Make the upgrade on your end so your previous data is saved.

What is GA4?

Google Analytics 4 is a service that enables users to measure traffic and engagement across your websites and apps. GA4’s software has multiple upgrades from the Universal version. Here are some main differences coming from the upgrade:

  • Reporting can occur on both websites and apps, rather than just websites.
  • All measurements are events to help you gain a better understanding of how users are interacting with your app and website.
  • Customer journey tracking is more in-depth due to updated metrics and cross-platform tracking.
  • Predictive analytics can be utilized based on users’ past behaviors.
  • The dashboard is more customizable, allowing you to visualize what’s most important.

It can help you improve your services based on results, understand consumer behaviors better, set and refine business goals and strategies, and learn how to create loyalty.
