Post-production Producer

charlieuniformtango Producer Michael Wagner Moves Up to Senior Producer

Written by Vicki Young

DALLAS– (January 8, 2020)–Lola Lott, charlieuniformtango principal/CEO announced Dallas-based producer Michael Wagner has been promoted to senior producer.

“Michael has been with charlietango four years now and has produced outstanding work for clients such as Dr. Pepper, Lexus, Mary-Kay, Schwab and Raising Cane’s. His attention to detail and great attitude makes him a pleasure to work with – both for our team and our clients. We look forward to many more years of enjoying and sharing his talents,” said Lola Lott.

Michael Wagner joined charlieuniformtango in January 2016 as a junior producer. He quickly worked his way up to producer. He graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Minor in History. After graduation, Michael applied to and was hired by BNSF Railroad as a train dispatcher – a position that followed in his father’s footsteps. He was with BNSF from 2013-2015. About this time, a chance meeting with other tango producers, who immediately saw talents in Michael that they felt would translate to producing, happened to line up with a time in Michael’s career when he was looking for a change.

“It means the world to me having been able to grow and develop the past four years and now to become a senior producer.” Michael says, “Oddly enough, there are quite a few similarities between transportation and post-production. Basically, you’re the gatekeeper in both positions. In train dispatching you manage, determine/direct, and schedule both trains and maintenance on the tracks. In producing you manage the artists and client schedules – both are all about planning. It seems like you’re always trying to hit a moving target in post and making sure you have a good plan in place, as well as thinking ahead for any curveballs that may come your way is what keeps me on my toes. ‘Love it when a plan comes together’ is my favorite line.”

Michael currently lives in Dallas with his girlfriend, Mariana, and two teacup Chihuahuas named Monita and Chloe. When he’s not producing, he loves sports – especially fantasy football with charlietango co-workers and friends.
