Whiskey Bacon Club Launches New TexasLending.com Campaign “Home Equity Fever. Catch It” Watch Fun Spots Now!

On the heels of the successful “Get Your Own House” campaign for conventional home loans from client TexasLending.com, Whiskey Bacon Club is launching their newest work for the Dallas-based mortgage company. It’s a campaign for their cash-back home-equity loans entitled, “Home Equity Fever. Catch It.”

The idea behind the new campaign is to tap into the emotional euphoria lenders suddenly experience when their cash-back home-equity loan is approved, in an outrageously humorous way.

“Suddenly, you’re flush with cash, so you’re like, ‘screw it, I’m out of here,’” explains Whiskey Bacon Club founder and creative director Kevin Sutton. “We started thinking, since Texas Lending approved your loan faster than you thought, what if you caught that urge at the most inopportune time?”

Like, when the pilot of a skydiving plane learns his loan has been approved and decides to leave mid-flight to talk to his contractor. Or your bomb squad defusing partner leaves mid-diffusing to go to Vegas. Or your stunt man takes off for Europe in the middle of a scene, leaving the actor in a precarious situation.

Whiskey Bacon Club gave the coming-down-with-the-sudden-urge-to-bail-on-everything emotion a name, “Home Equity Fever,” and urges consumers to come down with a case for themselves.

“It’s like calling in sick due to spring fever, only with mortgages,” Sutton added.

Sutton said the idea is based on a product difference unique to TexasLending.com. Since their approval process is so much quicker, the consumer gets approved quicker.

“It’s all about finding the intersection between the product truth and the consumer truth,” he noted, “and then exploiting the hell out of it.”

The first spot in the campaign will break locally this week, with the other two throughout the spring. Whiskey Bacon Club is also finishing two new spots in existing the “Get Your Own House” campaign for TexasLending.com.
