Dallas, Texas (Jan. 28, 2015) – The American Advertising Federation Dallas Chapter (AAF Dallas) is pleased to announce Corby Davidson as the celebrity host for the 54th Annual AAF Dallas American Advertising Awards, more commonly referred to as The ADDYs. Corby Davidson is co-host of DFW’s most popular drive time show, The Hardline with Mike Rhyner on sports radio station KTCK (AM) 1310 and 96.7 (FM) The Ticket in Dallas.
Taking a cue from the increasingly popular Fantasy Football movement, AAF has selected Fantasy Advertising as the theme. Each award entry was automatically entered into the AAF Dallas “draft.” Each agency participating in the awards will create a team and scout players – creative directors, art directors, copywriters and flex players – on the draft board. Results will stream live at the awards show in February.
“When Moroch presented AAF Dallas with this year’s ADDYs theme ‘Fantasy Advertising’, we knew it would make perfect sense to have local sports royalty, Corby Davidson from North Texas’ favorite radio show serve as our host,” says Jason Dove president of AAF Dallas. “This year we are making history with a record-breaking amount of entries of more than 950 and cannot wait to see who will win big. This is the one time of year that we get to showcase the impressive creative advertising work that Dallas agencies are doing.”
More than 950 entries were submitted this year from more than 70 Dallas advertising agencies, which were judged by Stephen Cargile, principal creative designer Walt Disney; Eunie Kwon, interactive design director, Mirum; and Marcelo Padoca, creative director at The Community.
The ADDYs Gala will be held Feb.18, 2016 beginning at 6:00 p.m. until 11:30 p.m., at Gas Monkey Live located at 10110 Technology Blvd E, Dallas, TX 75220. This event is expected to sell out – tickets are on sale now and start at $125. For more information and to purchase tickets, please visit aafdallas.org.
