Entertainment powerhouse Taylor Sheridan and real estate mogul Ross Perot Jr. are spearheading a massive bet on Texas filmmaking. The duo—alongside producer David Glasser, industry veteran Dan Schryer, and media giant Paramount—have opened SGS Studios, the state’s largest film and television production campus in Fort Worth’s AllianceTexas development.

The 450,000-square-foot facility can handle four large-scale productions at once and marks the first phase of an ambitious plan to create a sprawling filmmaking hub. Future expansions will add sound stages, post-production suites, and other state-of-the-art support facilities.

This project rides the wave of Texas’ newly expanded film incentives under Senate Bill 22, which increases funding for the Texas Moving Image Industry Incentive Program over the next decade. The program rewards productions that hire local talent—including students and veterans—and film in rural communities.

SGS Studios is partnering with Tarrant County College to train new talent for production roles such as set construction, grip and electric, post-production, and stage operations.

The Fort Worth campus is part of a broader push to make Texas a global filmmaking destination. Similar studio expansions are underway in San Marcos and Bastrop, signaling the state’s rising influence in the entertainment industry.
