Once again Dallas ADDYs, put on by AAF Dallas, captivated our attention and allowed us to be transported into the best-of-the-best of the world of creative advertising in Dallas,Texas.
The night was March 8, 2018 and the venue was The Bomb Factory in Deep Ellum. There were the usual goings on: each agency had purchased their table/s and were hobnobbing with fellow colleagues and other agencies. The who’s who were there…but did we know who they were? (We need to mingle more!) Most kept close to their tables, quickly visiting the buffet spread and of course, the bars that stretched the length of the massive venue. Chris Smith from The Richard’s Group was again master of ceremonies, and was funnier than ever.
What was different this year was that a new trophy design was revealed, not just another year’s design, but one that was intended to become iconic of the Dallas ADDYs and live in perpetuity. Like a good deal on a jingle license. From all accounts it was well-received, and it appears to have a good shot at just that happening.
Dress code was creative black-tie, and many creatives lived up to the challenge. Despite their time-crunched schedules, there was a smattering of smartly dressed individuals as well as those who dressed “creatively.”
Hats off to the Suzanne La Forgia, President AAF Dallas, Allison Farris, Executive Director AAF Dallas and Jerry Giordano, Chair for Dallas ADDYs 2018, for pulling off another great show!
