The Hardware Tech: Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive Camera
The URSA Cine Immersive by Blackmagic Design represents a significant leap forward in cinematic storytelling:
- Dual 8K sensors (8160 × 7200 per eye) capture stereoscopic 3D visuals with breathtaking clarity.
- An 180° field of view immerses viewers in every direction, replicating a sense of physical presence.
- 16 stops of dynamic range allow the camera to retain detail in both shadow and highlight extremes.
- 90 fps immersive mode provides smooth playback even in fast-moving performance sequences.
- 8TB removable media module ensures efficient capture and secure storage of immense file sizes.
Unlike traditional cameras, the URSA Cine Immersive is designed specifically for immersive platforms, making it ideal for VR headsets and stereoscopic playback. The Shoot: Venues & Aesthetic Choices
To fully capture the spirit of No Brainer, the production spanned two unique Dallas venues:
The Kessler (Dallas) — An iconic music venue that provided the perfect setting to stress-test the URSA’s low-light capabilities. Live stage lighting, moody atmospheres, and the authentic energy of a performance environment gave the footage a raw, authentic texture.
Gallery DeFi (Downtown Dallas) — A 16,000 sq. ft. immersive art space filled with installations, murals, and mixed-media works from over 40 artists. The gallery’s vibrant visuals complemented the band’s eclectic style, creating layered backdrops that seamlessly aligned with their experimental sound.
The dual-location approach strikes a balance between intimacy and spectacle. At The Kessler, audiences will feel like they’re part of a private show. At Gallery DeFi, the band is surrounded by surreal visuals that enhance the immersive narrative and reflect their bold aesthetic choices.

We created multiple versions of the video to be playable on different platforms and owned media channels. For YouTube, we needed to modify the AIVU file that was created for the Apple Vision Pro experience. You can see the 180º video below via the web on your desktop or mobile device.
