Greg Sunmark Blends Family Films with New Footage for his National Park Film

Written by AdChat DFW

Dallas-based editor, VO actor, Greg Sunmark recently shared a new personal project that blends old family film footage with scenes he shot during a recent visit to Grand Teton National Park. The piece contrasts past and present, using the vintage clips as a reminder of how national parks connect generations of travelers.

In the video, Sunmark talks about visiting Grand Teton in May—typically a time when the weather is unpredictable and the trails aren’t fully open. But with realistic expectations and a little preparation, he says the experience can be surprisingly rewarding. Fewer crowds mean more room to explore, and wildlife is especially active coming out of winter.

Sunmark also reflects on the bigger picture. Grand Teton is just one of 63 national parks, plus hundreds of other sites cared for by the National Park Service. His film underscores how much natural beauty and history these places represent—from landscapes and wildlife to the stories they hold. It’s a reminder of why these parks matter and why preserving them for future generations is worth the effort.
