James Rayburn, charlieuniformtango’s Editor/President/CEO, announced Catherine Thomas has been promoted to Visual Effects Artist.
James said, “I’m delighted to announce that Catherine has been promoted to Visual Effects Artist. It’s been such a thrill to watch her career blossom over the past several years. Catherine has been a wonderful addition to our visual effects team and has quickly endeared herself to our clients as well. It’s great to see another incredible talent rise through the Tango ranks.”
As a university student, Catherine worked as an Intern in both studio and on-location production. She joined charlieuniformtango in September 2017 as an Assistant Editor, and in January 2020 became an Assistant VFX Editor. She graduated from the University of North Texas in May 2017 with a BA in Radio, Television, and Film. She went on to earn a master’s degree in business administration from West Texas A&M University in May 2020.
“What I like the most about working in visual effects is making the magic happen – taking a raw edit and turning it into something special,” Catherine says. “I really enjoy interacting and collaborating with our clients. I’ve watched teammates at Tango become close friends with their clients, and I’m looking forward to building these kinds of relationships as my work here at Tango progresses.
“The people at charlieuniformtango are like family. I don’t say that lightly. I know they have my back, and I have theirs. I love working here and was really lucky to be able to come onboard right out of college.”
Senior VFX artist Allen Robbins adds, “Catherine has come into her own as a VFX artist and put in the years of hard work to hone her craft, she’s earned it and I look forward to the great work ahead for our VFX team.”
“I’m so grateful for this promotion and I’m proud of the work I did to earn it. There aren’t many female VFX artists in this industry, and I’m looking forward to helping pave the way for more women to show what they can do,” Catherine concluded.
