Avocados From Mexico inaugurated its newly remodeled AvoLab – a culinary playground where culinary professionals can create, innovate and develop real-world menu items inspired by and featuring avocados. The opening marked part of the celebration of Avocados From Mexico’s 10th anniversary this month.
AdChat’s Patty Harrison was invited to join the celebration and had the opportunity to interview AFM’s President and CEO, Alvaro Luque, about the anniversary celebration, the launch of AvoLab and also the company’s upcoming fall marketing initiatives. She also interviewed Pati Jinich, a James Beard award-winning chef who has collaborated with AMF for nine years to advance the culinary creativity of avocados.
It was a wonderful evening filled with good food and good times and the most amazing basil guac you’ve ever tasted.

The new AvoLab space allows for operators to collaborate, network and innovate and includes:
- A Cocina to host innovation sessions and shoot new recipe content
- Chef Stations for demoing recipes and share education techniques
- Mixology Lounge that can be used for culinary mixology classes, after-hours events or smaller consumer research and meeting space
