U.S. production outfit Torfoot Entertainment Group, is launching with the horror movie Yeti, which Radiant Films will launch for next month’s American Film Market in Las Vegas.

Torfoot is a DFW and NYC-based TV firm spearheaded by producer Johnathan Brownlee (The Standoff At Sparrow Creek) and Emmy-winning casting director-turned-producer Ross Meyerson (Damages).

The team is aiming to begin production on The Yeti this winter in New York. The synopsis reads: “Oil tycoon Merriell Sunday Sr. and renowned adventurer Hollis Bannister have disappeared without a trace. Their last known location is northern Alaska. Ellie Bannister and Merriell Sunday Jr., set out to search for their missing fathers and the truth behind what made them vanish. As the rescue team heads deeper into the heart of this frozen landscape, danger mounts. Something has taken notice of their trespassing expedition…and that prehistoric something is now stalking them…hunting them.”

Pic is co-written and will be co-directed by Gene Gallerano (The First Wave) and William Pisciotta (Thunder Road). Jim Cummings (Thunder Road) is attached to star with additional casting in process. Radiant will handle international sales.

Creature design is spearhead by Wayne Anderson and Ali Gordon, known for their creature design on projects including The PredatorJurassic World and Stranger Things. First concept art from the production can be seen below. Stunt coordinator/second unit director will be Freddie Poole (Tulsa King) and production designer will be Frank Coppola (Nightmare Alley).

Producers Brownlee and Meyerson have recently worked on movies including I’ll Be Right ThereNavigating Christmas and the upcoming Things We Shouldn’t Talk About. Among projects on their development slate are Eyes Of Jefferson, Flagrant, Juliet, My Name Is Kira, Montserrat and The Will Rogers Story.

Brownlee said: “We love the classic horror films Frankenstein and Dracula as well as recent films like Nope and Barbarian. Like these films, the creature is the star of the film. The vast majority of our creature moments and action sequences are practical and “in-camera,” leaning on our talented award winning SFX and stunt teams.”

Torfoot Entertainment Group is repped by Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
