Given the task to gather both photo and video assets for Jesuit High School, I knew I had to get creative. With limited resources, tighter deadline, and no budget to spare, I saw an opportunity to innovate and kill two birds with one stone. So, I pitched the idea to produce an animation of stills, aiming to deliver the best of both worlds without breaking the bank. An interesting video for an email campaign, and an abundance of high quality still photos for any other uses.
Looking back on my collaboration with Jesuit High School, I’m reminded of the labor of crafting stories with thousands of images.Sorting through over 12,000 frames was no small feat, but it allowed us to create a dynamic blend of stills and moving text, reminiscent of a stop-motion masterpiece. Our editor’s additions with split screen effects and captivating type treatments added the final touches, transforming the project into a moving visual story. The end result showcased how creativity thrives even with minimal resources or a shoestring budget. When the pro bono project hit inboxes, the response exceeded expectations, with donations flooding in immediately. It exemplified the power of creative problem-solving, demonstrating that inventiveness and determination yield remarkable results, regardless of limitations.
