In Texas, food is a love language. It’s how we show we care, that we’re thinking of someone, and that no matter how much the world around us changes, our recipes and traditions can always bring us together. To celebrate Mother’s Day, Plot Twist Creativity delivered “Ice Cream & Cookies” for H-E-B and brought this sentiment to life through the story of a mother and daughter’s relationship, told through this food-as-a-love-language lens.
The spot walks the viewer through a series of life moments of a mother and daughter, beginning with the mother’s pregnancy. As the scenes progress through life from picnics and birthdays to college, engagements and ultimately full circle to the daughter’s pregnancy, H-E-B is always there, woven into the everyday moments.
We wanted this spot to feel relatable, sentimental, and nostalgic. Paired with an instrumental version of “Forever Young,” we were able to further underscore those emotions.
