Lee Papert, President and CEO of Dallas Film Society and Executive Director of DIFF (Dallas International Film Festival), sat down with AdChat DFW to talk about the upcoming 10th anniversary celebration. The annual film festival gathers together thousands of film professionals such as directors, cinematographers, and celebrities along with the city’s avid film-loving community, to take part in ten days of film, fun and festivities.

It all begins on Thursday April 14, with an Opening Night Screening and Gala at the Dallas City Performance Hall and continues through April 24th with celebrations at various Dallas locations including the Nasher Sculpture Center Klyde Warren Park and the Angelika Film Center & Café.
The Centerpiece Gala presentations include the first episode for the USA Network’s locally shot new television series, Queen of the South, and the previously announced selection of Chris Kelly’s OTHER PEOPLE. The famed Dallas Star Award will be presented to Academy Award-nominated cinematographer, Ed Lachman, and the inaugural presentation of the L.M. Kit Carson Maverick Filmmaker Award to director Monte Hellman.
Other films in this year’s line-up includes productions directed by Natalie Portman, to those starring Rachel Weisz, Danny Glover, to a documentary about Tony Robbins. The films presented are independently produced in locations around the world and are presented to Dallas audiences for the first and possibly only time.
