Rick Stephenson, owner and colorist for Independent Colour, was one of the original founders of Filmworkers Dallas where he worked with top agencies including HBO, The Richards Group, Sundance Film Festival, and won many awards for his work.
In 2011 as the market started to change and the digital revolution evolved, Rick saw an opportunity to build a business of his own. After 24 years with DaVinci (Resolve), he continued to utilize their domination in color correction and with the purchase of additional equipment he started Independent Colour.
The idea to take high-end digital colorist equipment mobile was a pivotal decision for Stephenson and his services were soon very sought after. With his mobile color correcting solution, clients could now choose where they color graded their footage instead of being forced to visit a specific location.
