DIFF Screenwriting Competition Quarterfinalists Announced | 8 DFW Writers


Eight DFW writers topped the winning list of quarterfinalists for the screenplay competition this year, offered by Dallas International Film Festival, powered by Capital One. Highlights include: Harry Hunsicker with three winning scripts, Troy Perkins, who also earned success in both categories, and UNT student Hunter Marion for his short script. Other winning Dallas writers include:

The DIFF “Broaden Your Horizon” Screenplay Competition, presented by Event Horizon Films, provides Hollywood access to Dallas screenwriters, among others, who are interested in improving craft and exposure. Each script was reviewed by working industry professionals at top Hollywood rep agencies (United Talent Agency, Creative Artists Agency, Gersh, etc.) and graded based on strength of plot, characterization, format, originality, style, dialogue, pacing and current market potential.

Semifinalists will be announced May 1.
