DHD Films Takes Texas Native Health’s 988 Campaign Beyond the Video

Written by DHD Films

What started as a video project has grown into a much broader partnership between DHD Films and Texas Native Health, with this year’s 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline campaign reaching Native American communities across four major Texas markets.

DHD Films has been working with Texas Native Health for several years, beginning with a video for the organization’s Dallas clinic and later producing a brand film. Here’s a case study about it. In 2025, the relationship expanded into the first 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline campaign, designed to build awareness of mental health resources among Native Americans in Texas.

That campaign performed well enough to help Texas Native Health secure another round of federal grant funding for 2026, allowing the effort to grow considerably.

This year, the campaign has expanded beyond Dallas to include Dallas Ft.-Worth, Austin, Houston and San Antonio. Texas Native Health has behavioral health therapists in each of those markets, giving the organization a way to connect people with local support.

DHD Films developed three video spots, along with a media strategy that includes digital out of home billboards in Dallas and San Antonio, Meta static and video placements, streaming audio and display advertising across all four markets.

The expansion into media has been part of the growth of DHD’s relationship with Texas Native Health. Collin Quick, who serves as the account lead on the work, helped bring media strategy and placement into DHD’s capabilities, developing partnerships with media agencies to help get the campaign in front of its intended audience.

The media strategy is highly targeted and is designed to reach members of the Native American community with messages that speak directly to issues identified through conversations with Texas Native Health’s Behavioral Health team.

Those themes include loneliness among older adults, drinking and alcoholism, and a sense of disenchantment among younger generations. The actors featured in the spots are Native Americans from North Texas, adding another layer of authenticity to the work.

There is one more piece of the campaign still coming: a 50-page mindfulness journal currently being printed for Texas Native Health patients. The journal is designed to be used as part of therapy or independently through guided prompts and activities.

For DHD Films and Texas Native Health, the work is ultimately about making sure the right people see a message that feels relevant to their lives and and knowing support is available.
