Cut+Run is excited to announce their expansion of Texas-based creativity with the addition of two editors, John McStravick and Adam Henderson. Longtime colleagues and friends, the editors have forged distinctive careers in a parallel path, both at Treehouse Editorial, Charlie Uniform Tango and ultimately to a home at Cut+Run.
“We are thrilled to welcome Adam and John to the Cut+Run family,” comments Bebe Baldwin, EP, Cut+Run Texas. “We were immediately intrigued by their talent, and then their personalities sealed the deal. It is just as important for our Editors to be good humans as it is to be talented. We are also beyond excited to have a presence in the Dallas market, which is a very tight-knit community. That is something we respect and value as a company, and we can’t wait for the adventure to begin.”
“100% agree,” says Amburr Farls, Cut+Run’s Managing Partner on the West Coast and Texas. “John and Adam are exceptional at their craft and already feel like part of our C+R family. We are delighted to welcome them and this exciting opportunity to authentically expand our Texas community.”
John McStravick is an editor with over 15 years of experience collaborating with such agencies as TRG, LERMA, Launch Agency, and 31,000FT on broadcast campaigns for global brands including Avocados From Mexico, 7UP, Frito Lay, Home Depot, Ram, Toyota, Russell Athletic and more. John’s work is defined by rich storytelling with human connections, whether it’s a deeply-moving anthemic PSA or a playful and relatable comedy spot. Advertising’s lasting impression and its reflection of pop culture has been a long-time fascination for the editor. With a perspective that compelling stories live everywhere, John’s ability to find common ground, whether on screen or behind the scenes, has informed his career, earning loyal clients and appreciative colleagues.
To quote Adam Henderson, he has been editing professionally since 2009, but passionately since 2002. A formative experience crafting creative and journalistic videos immediately sparked a love of editing. Confirming editing as a calling, Adam was the Grand Prize winner of Adobe’s International editing competition, “Make the Cut,” beating out 9,000 entrants from over 28 countries. Some of his clients include Motel 6, Poo~Pourri, HEB, Famous Footwear, Home Depot, Salvation Army, Toyota, Tastykake, & Suddenlink. In addition to his advertising career, Adam is a self-avowed movie buff and has worked on several feature films, a few popular web series, and a slew of award-winning short films. Helping bring people’s ideas to life, whether in short or long form, advertising or entertainment, is a driving force behind each collaboration.
When it comes to joining Cut+Run, John explains, “This opportunity to join the team behind the award-winning work and industry leadership is very exciting and, frankly, a dream come true. And it’s exciting to be a part of intensifying Cut+Run’s reach in Texas which is a vibrant creative community.”
“Everyone at Cut+Run is so welcoming. They are one of the top editorial companies in the world and yet it feels very much like a family,” says Adam. “And yes, it’s been wild that John and I have ended up working side by side for such a long time – I am excited that it continues with Cut+Run.”
