Frito-Lay is in the Big Game with Cheetos and Doritos | Spots Feature Former NFL Players

It’s official.  Frito-Lay is airing Super Bowl spots featuring former NFL players for both their Cheetos and Doritos brands. The portfolio spots are set to air before kickoff and a broader campaign, encouraging people to stock up on chips before the game, will air prior to the Super Bowl.

The in-game spots will introduce two new products, Cheetos Crunch Pop and Doritos 3D Crunch. Frito-Lay has not revealed whether the celebrities will appear in the in-game spots or which agencies are behind the projects. It did release images of NFL stars in their pajamas, including Marshawn Lynch, Eli Manning, Peyton Manning, Joe Montana, Jerry Rice and Deion Sanders, next to bags of Tostitos, Doritos, Cheetos and Lays. 

Pre-Super Bowl chip sales are crucial for Frito-Lay. As millions continue to stay at home during the pandemic, the company is prepping for strong demand with ramped up production.
