DALLAS–(August 2018)–Lola Lott, charlieuniformtango principal/CEO, announced Katherine Harper has been named Vice President of Operations and Marketing.
“Katherine brings to tango over sixteen years of marketing experience, and an astounding love for reading and understanding legal documents,” said Lola Lott. “Her skills in human resources, plus all her additional talents and strengths will be a great asset to making sure tango runs smoothly.”
Katherine’s sixteen years of experience as a marketing and public relations executive include work in branding, communications, and strategic marketing for top global brands. A native Texan, Katherine graduated with honors from Southern Methodist University with degrees in business and Spanish.
She received the Richard C. Leach International Marketing Award and moved to London in 2002 to work for HIT Entertainment on its portfolio of global children’s brands including Barney the Dinosaur, Bob the Builder and Thomas the Tank Engine. After returning to Dallas, she continued to work for HIT in publicity and marketing communications. In 2007, Katherine transitioned to the production and post-production side of the business as Director of Marketing for Golden Globe-nominated studio, Reel FX. She was promoted to Head of Marketing and Communications in 2011. In that role, she oversaw the studio’s overall strategic marketing and communications efforts for its commercial division, VR division and original animated films including 2013’s Free Birds (Jimmy Hayward, Scott Mosier) with Relativity Media and 2014’s Golden Globe, PGA, Critics Choice and Annie Award-nominated The Book of Life (Jorge Gutierrez, Guillermo Del Toro) with 20th Century Fox. After leaving Reel FX in 2016, she worked as a consultant for top commercial and entertainment industry clients in Dallas/Ft Worth, as well as on her own film projects. Katherine has also executive produced several indie film projects including festival favorite The Mink Catcher (official selection at Telluride & SXSW) as well as this year’s Civic Duty. Katherine said, “Throughout my career, I’ve been incredibly lucky to work for people that I respect, and that I consider family. In an industry like ours, which can be intense, fast-paced and let’s face it – a little crazy – that’s important. I came to tango because of its incredible reputation and the insanely talented people under its roof, and since day one have felt at home here. tango has it all, and I’m thrilled to be a part of the team that Lola and Jack have built, and look forward to helping continue to grow the business as we head down some new and exciting paths.”
