Emerging Director with a Belief in Visual Storytelling
Hal Dantzler, charlieuniformtango Executive Producer/Creative Content, announced Jennell Renai has come on board as a Director.
Hal Dantzler said, “The synergy with Jennell was there instantly. Our production department was designed to offer turn-key solutions. We have talent from every discipline, so we love to be involved in projects from the beginning. This helps us deliver the very best solutions. That’s the way Jennell likes to work, too. We’re a perfect match.”
“I come from an editing background,” Jennell Renai says. “I’m known for my documentary work, but I’ve been wanting to get more into the agency creative commercial space, and when I talked with Hal, I knew charlieuniformtango was just what I was looking for. I knew I could be myself and still grow with the team. And, by working with such a talented, supportive group, we could create the very best work for our clients.”
Jennell Renai is an emerging Director who was first drawn to filmmaking through her belief that visual storytelling is the best way to shape the way people see the world.
She started her career as a video and motion graphics editor, giving her a strong understanding of the basic elements needed to craft a compelling narrative. As a director, she can visualize a project’s whole edit in her head before ever stepping on set. She understands the nuances of transitions and how live-action and motion graphics can be woven together in a myriad of intriguing ways to tell compelling stories. And that’s exactly what she does.
Jennell attended Hawai’i Pacific University (for the surfing, she says) on a full dance scholarship. She graduated with a degree in economics, with a focus on poverty and the economies of developing nations. Today, Jennell’s dance background helps create the unique rhythms that flow through everything she does creatively.
Jennell has directed work for Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Rocket Mortgage, Quicken Loans, ASICS, and IKEA. She has also worked on projects with Olympic athletes such as Deena Kastor and Jordan Burroughs. She enjoys creating an ego-free set where everybody feels empowered to deliver their best performance and everyone goes home with a memorable experience and a kick-ass spot.
At the heart of everything Jennell does is a deep-rooted desire to make the world a kinder, more equitable, and joyful place.
