Last December, I did what I love to do every year. Yes, I decorated our home in holiday cheer with a speed, depth, and enthusiasm often only seen in a young, dedicated kindergarten teacher. But I also retreat, evaluate, reflect, and take stock. I take stock on everything—my family, my health, my finances, my previous year. Spreadsheets are involved. This is a personal, important pilgrimage for me, if not a process. Therapeutic in its elements of workout, diet, and how I want to present myself, yet challenging with difficult reflections, exercises, and questions. Not Aaron Rodgers level—but maybe Aaron Rodgers light version! The previous year’s success and failures are strictly measured, reflected upon, and evaluated.
And then, all is washed away. I exit the process with clarity and excitement for the upcoming year. A completely new year with new goals, habits, experiences—always rewarding. Always empowering. January 2025, I arrive extra hungry and motivated professionally. Specifically when it comes to Arm Candy.
Arm Candy got it’s start in January 2019 in an Uptown Dallas apartment with one twenty-something-year-old employee—CEO and Founder, John Lods. The next six years would be a wild ride of highs, lows and laughs. Leadership structure—changed. People—changed. Office—changed. Client portfolio—really changed.
But through those years, the mission, vision, and values have not changed. Not one letter or word. Arm Candy is the highest quality provider of paid media services. Arm Candy is maniacally focused on being an MVP to our employees, partners and clients. We demand that we individually and collectively live our values—Attitude is Everything, Get Sh-t Done, 1% Better, and Find Your Balance. That is our secret sauce. It’s not changing, and it’s not really a secret. John knew the world needed a better agency. I agreed. We did not look back.
Year seven of Arm Candy comes running on the heels of our best year yet. 2024 saw amazing talent develop and twenty-one bright media minds joined the agency including Dre Wilson, Josh Phipps, Stacy Granado, Katy Goff, and Jordan Rodriguez to name a few. 2024 saw incredible new AOR clients including Rust-Oleum, Cicis Pizza, Dallas College, U.S. LawShield with Commerce House and Bethpage FCU with StrawberryFrog. 2024 saw CYRIS, our proprietary in-house media intelligence technology, explode in adoption and application. 2024 was a FANTASTIC and rewarding year for Arm Candy, so we capped off the year by celebrating with our team at the Henry in Dallas.
Year seven doesn’t care about year six. Time is our most valuable and scarce asset. So our time is now and 2025 is all that matters.
