Avocados from Mexico Spot is Favorite Piece From This Year’s Show
It happens every year in at the end of October. The big show that draws the top agency creatives to watch the best of the best is the Art & Technique of the American Commercial otherwise known as AICP Southwest 2017.
The show itself is a compilation of all the winning entries from agencies around the country. Local agency creatives, production companies and more allow themselves to be awed, inspired and challenged by the level of work shown.
Matt Miller, President of AICP National, is always in attendance, and offers his unique insight into each show. This year he said all brands strove to find their soul and their DNA, distilling who they are down to the bare essence. We think it was certainly true for many brands this year. Check out all the spots on the AICP National site.
John Gilliland, President of AICP Southwest Chapter, and Executive Producer at Lucky 21, and commercial producer Tracy Trail with Rising Fall, did a wonderful job not only on the show but the much attended “after” party.
One thing is for sure, this is where the fun happens and it’s just as important for the agency and production communities as watching the show. The amount of alcohol consumed is equal in significance to the co-mingling of peers.
AdChat’s Patty Harrison interviewed a few people and asked what was their favorite piece from the show. It’s no surprise that it was the most “local” entry, GSD&M’s “Secret Society” for Avocados from Mexico.
