Robert Benton is an Academy Award winner known for writing and/or directing well-known films including Kramer vs. Kramer(1979), Places in the Heart( 1984), The Late Show (1977), Nobody’s Fool (1994) and Twilight (1998).
Benton was at the Dallas International Red Carpet Gala opening along with Faye Dunaway, to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Bonnie and Clyde, for which he co-authored the screenplay. Born in Waxahachie, Texas, Benton recalls hearing about Bonnie & Clyde as a youth and visiting their graves. He also considers Bonnie & Clyde one of the first American-European films.
