Want to be a Screenwriter? Dallas International Film Festival Launches Screenplay Competition | Presented by Event Horizon Films

WHO:
Dallas Film announced today the new “Broaden Your Horizons” screenplay competition for its 14th annual Dallas International Film Festival (DIFF), powered by Capital One.

WHAT:
The DIFF screenplay competition, presented by Event Horizon Films, offers writers the opportunity to submit scripts for feature films, television pilots and short films, which will be reviewed by readers at top Hollywood talent agencies and management companies.

The competition is one of few to allow re-entry after a quarter finalist elimination to anyone who has purchased professional feedback, while also making the process of multiple submissions more affordable.

WHY:
Dallas Film is committed to providing leadership in screen education and the recognition and celebration of excellence in the art of film, television, screenwriting and digital media in the Dallas community. The screenplay competition was launched to provide Hollywood access to Dallas screenwriters interested in improving craft and exposure.

WHEN:
Dallas International Film Festival, powered by Capital One, is accepting screenplay entries now through midnight on March 31, 2020.

DIFF runs April 16-23, 2020. Finalists will be announced during the Filmmakers Brunch, Sunday, April 19, 2020.

Dallas International Film Festival, powered by Capital One, is held at West Village in Uptown Dallas.

PRIZES:
Winners will receive up to $1,000 prize money, a 7-day writer’s enrichment
cruise, professional consultations, and a DIFF Star Pass.
