Smoothie King Encourages 2019 Fitness Journey | Offers ‘Change-a-Meal Challenge’

Smoothie King, the smoothie brand committed to inspiring guests to live a healthy and active lifestyle, will help motivate guests to achieve their 2019 New Year’s resolutions with its “Change-a-Meal Challenge” to swap one meal per day with a healthy meal smoothie. Smoothie King moved its headquarters to Coppell, Texas last year.

“It’s all too easy to choose fast food or takeout or skip meals altogether and snack excessively when you’re in a time crunch,” says Samantha Cassetty, RD, MS. “A much healthier habit that’s just as convenient is to grab a smoothie. Because a dietary downfall for many people is consuming high-calorie, low-nutrient coffee beverages, Smoothie King is highlighting meal smoothies made with cold-brew coffee that satisfy coffee cravings while packing a nutritional punch. The Activator Coffee Smoothie features cold-brew coffee, coconut water, banana, Gladiator Protein, nonfat milk and protein blend with just 230 calories and 3 grams of fat, plus 29 grams of protein for a filling, satisfying replacement. Guests can also add cold-brew coffee to other meal smoothies like the Gladiator and Yogurt D-Lite.

“We want to be part of every health and fitness journey in 2019, and we’re kicking it off with our Change-a-Meal Challenge because we know that change happens one choice at a time,” says Smoothie King CEO Wan Kim. “By having a healthy meal smoothie instead of a fast food breakfast or lunch, our guests will start to see their New Year’s goals realized.”

To kick off the Challenge, Smoothie King is offering $2 off any meal smoothie 20-ounce or larger when guests bring in a competitor’s or QSR/fast food coupon on Dec. 31.

Smoothie King is adding motivation by offering guests the chance to win prizes with each smoothie they purchase using the Healthy Rewards app. Prizes include Ryka shoes, OtterBox coolers, free Smoothie King for a year, a trip for two to a basketball game, and a grand prize trip to New Orleans for a workout with a sports team trainer.
