Written by AdChat DFW

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, American Airlines is featuring a collection of must-watch movie hits on the airline’s inflight entertainment, including Selena, West Side Story and In The Heights. American’s Latin Diversity Network Employee Business Resource Group chose 15 classic films for the Hispanic Heritage Month Channel, which will be on board aircraft through Oct. 15.

Below are some of the movies featured on the Hispanic Heritage Month Channel.

Selena (1997)
At 23, Selena shone as a fresh star. But just as she was poised to be the next pop music sensation, her life was tragically cut short.

La Bamba (1987)
The story of Ritchie Valens, who emerged from the migrant camps of California’s San Joaquin Valley in the late 1950s and changed music history.

West Side Story (1961)
This electrifying musical sets the ageless tragedy of Romeo and Juliet in the slums of 1950s New York.

Highlighting diversity

American works with its Employee Business Resource Groups (EBRGs), such as the Latin Diversity Network, to highlight movies that celebrate diversity across its inflight entertainment. American’s EBRGs include 20 groups made up of more than 26,000 American Airlines team members that represent different backgrounds, cultures and experiences.

In the past, American’s inflight heritage channels has spotlighted Black History Month, Women’s History Month, Pride as well as Asian American and Pacific Islander Month.

More choice for entertainment in flight

American has the fastest Wi-Fi on more aircraft than any other carrier, and all inflight entertainment is free, including live TV, a library of up to 600 movies and TV shows and a Lifestyle inflight entertainment channel that includes e-learning tools such as Rosetta Stone and Skillshare.

Connecting is simple. Customers can access inflight entertainment on their personal device and connect to the “AA-Inflight” signal. Once connected, customers will be redirected to aainflight.com, American’s Wi-Fi and entertainment portal.
