Dallas Sonnier/ Caliber Media to Produce New Vince Vaughn Film, “Brawl in Cell Block 99”

Dallas Sonnier, newly appointed to the Dallas Film Society Board, will be keeping busy for the remainder of the year, as he is currently prepping an upcoming Vince Vaughn film. The movie is entitled “Brawl in Cell Block 99” and is produced by Caliber Media which Sonnier co-founded. The screenplay is written by S. Crain Zahler, who also wrote “Bone Tomahawk” starring Kurt Russell and Matthew Fox. Bone Tomahawk was also produced by Sonnier and was nominated for two Independent Spirit awards earlier this year.

BONE TOMAHAWKIn the upcoming movie Vaugh plays a former boxer whose life is in shambles, having lost his job and his marriage is on the brink. Making a bad decision to work as a drug courier he finds himself in a gunfight with police officers and lands in prison. There he is forced to commit acts of violence which turns the prison into an even more dangerous battleground.

The film is set to begin production at the end of the summer.
