Led by marketing manager Lawson Martin, the in-house marketing team at The Warren Center, a nonprofit agency dedicated to advocating for children and families affected by developmental delays and disabilities — faced a unique challenge to stand out amongst the thousands of nonprofits that participate in North Texas Giving Day. Martin was charged with developing a captivating and imaginative advertising campaign that would appeal to community members. Tapping into her broadcast journalism background and passion for social media, Martin and her team created the “Unleash Your Inner Supper Hero & Give2Kids” campaign to help the nonprofit stand out during North Texas Giving Day.
The campaign invites the public to channel their inner superheroes. Under the mission of “#Give2Kids,” this campaign aims to bring about transformative change in the lives of children and families in need.
According to Martin, “We’re welcoming everyone to a mission that calls on the superhero within each one of us! This mission, called “#Give2Kids,” will help change the lives of children and families impacted by developmental disabilities and delays,” sets the stage for an impactful and engaging North Texas Giving Day.
At the heart of the campaign is the belief that every child, regardless of their abilities, has the potential to overcome challenges and thrive. The Warren Center recognizes the pivotal role that community support plays in this journey.”
“In the 13 months I’ve been working for The Warren Center, I’ve increased the agency’s Facebook page reach by around 322%, increased their Instagram’s total impressions by around 30,000 – 80,000 impressions depending on the month, doubled their Instagram followers, and started a TikTok account, which now boasts more than 1,100 followers. Because our social media accounts have grown significantly, I knew we would need to have a strong presence to raise the most funds and awareness possible for North Texas Giving Day.”
Martin also tapped into her broadcast journalism career to create a fun video detailing the campaign’s mission, which is available to watch here. The marketing team also sent out a postcard to donors, an email newsletter and is hosting a staff competition to encourage staff to create peer-to-peer fundraising pages on the North Texas Giving Day website, and the team that gathers the most individual donors will win two tickets per team member to the Texas State Fair.
The superhero-themed campaign not only captures the imagination but also highlights the power of collective action. Contributions, both big and small, fuse together to create magical moments in the lives of these children. The funds raised during North Texas Giving Day will be instrumental in expanding The Warren Center’s reach, ensuring that more families receive the vital services they need. These services include speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and specialized skills training.
According to Martin, “Our goal this North Texas Giving Day is to raise necessary funds to reach more families in need, creating an even greater impact in our community. Your support will help us continue to provide essential services to children. The Warren Center will never turn a child or family away due to an inability to pay. For each and every one of the 1,300 children we serve, the agency needs to raise $2,000 to cover the costs of services. Our goal is to ease the financial burden of these families, enabling them to focus on their child’s well-being.”
North Texas Giving Day will be held on September 21, but early giving began on September 1. The Warren Center invites everyone to join forces, embrace the spirit of giving, and be the superheroes that these children deserve.
