Get ready! It’s your chance to step onto the largest LED volume in Texas and take control. This immersive, two-track workshop at Trilogy Studios is built for working DPs and cinematographers who want to level up and get all the details of shooting on a volume stage.
What you’ll learn
Track A — Cinematography for virtual production
Get a clear cinema-focused playbook for LED stages—lighting, exposure, lens choices, color control, and common pitfalls to avoid. You’ll learn how to blend real-world elements with virtual backgrounds and leave with practical techniques you can apply on your next shoot.
Track B — Camera Motion & Tracking for virtual production
Get a clear playbook for camera movement and motion tracking on LED stages—how to plan smooth, repeatable crane moves, set up basic tracking, choose speeds and extensions that play well on the wall, and place the lens for the look you want. Learn simple coordination with playback/VFX, how to avoid common LED artifacts during moves, and how to block and rehearse efficiently so you can execute confidently on your next shoot.
Tracks run concurrently; you’ll rotate so every attendee completes both.

Jake is based centrally in Dallas, Texas and works in both commercial and narrative on a variety of productions nationwide. His reel spans national brands (e.g., Samsung, Doritos, Cheetos, Lays) and indie features—expect hard-won techniques you can use on the next bid.
Bobby Hester – Founder & President, Aurora Digital Cinema / Aurora Technocrane
Bobby is an Emmy Award-winning cinematographer with over 30 years of experience in the film, commercial, and broadcast industries. Based in the DFW metroplex, Bobby leads Aurora Digital Cinema and its Technocrane division, which he founded in 2015.
