Join us for the DIFF INSIDE FILM Screening and Talk Series, featuring a screening of the psychological horror film, THE BELDHAM, followed by a filmmaker Q&A with writer | director Angela Gulner and producer Mark Meir.

SYNOPSIS:
THE BELDHAM is a 2024 American psychological horror film starring Patricia Heaton, Katie Parker, Emma Fitzpatrick, and Corbin Bernsen. The film follows a struggling new mother who fights a generations-old presence lurking within her family home, threatening her safety, her sanity, and the life of her infant child.

GUEST BIOS:
ANGELA GULNER is an award-winning Dallas-based filmmaker and theater artist. Her work tends towards genre — horror, surrealism, black comedy — and often centers women’s stories. Gulner launched her filmmaking career with the viral dark comedy BINGE inspired by her experience with bulimia. She is the co-founder of Wicked Myth Films, an independent production company specializing in high-concept, elevated genre work.
Her feature film directorial debut THE BELDHAM — starring Emmy Award-winning Patricia Heaton, Katie Parker (THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE), Emma Fitzpatrick (THE SOCIAL NETWORK), and Corbin Bernsen (LA Law) — had its World Premiere at Sitges Film Festival, its North American Premiere at Austin Film Festival in Fall 2024, and played FilmQuest, Ramaskrik, and Blodig Weekend.
Gulner won Best Director at FilmQuest 2024 for THE BELDHAM.
MARK MEIR is a director and producer, known for THE SUMMONED (2022), CRIMINAL MINDS (2005) and THE BELDHAM (2024).
He made his directorial debut with the feature thriller, THE SUMMONDED. The film premiered at the Overlook Film Festival domestically and at FrightFest internationally. XYZ Films acquired THE SUMMONED for distribution, and it is now available on your preferred VOD platform. Meir’s second effort as a producer was on THE BELDHAM.
Meir also has an extensive résumé as an actor (SAG/Equity), appearing in television shows such as “Black-ish”, “Scandal”, “Criminal Minds”, “Fear the Walking Dead”, and “The Newsroom”, numerous indie films, as well as classical and contemporary plays.
In addition to his producing, directing, and acting work, he founded the highly-regarded OTM Acting Studio in Atwater Village, CA. Meir is also director of the film program at St. Marks School of Texas.

DIFF INSIDE FILM is a free educational talk series featuring film screenings followed by conversations with directors, producers, screenwriters, actors, and other film industry professionals.
The DIFF INSIDE FILM program is designed to give film students first-hand, face-to-face access to film industry insiders to guide their path toward career success in film-related professions. It is also open to people working in the local film industry and to film aficionados in the North Texas community. The series features guest speakers and panelists with international, national, regional and local filmmaking backgrounds and experiences.
Screenings and Q&As are curated and moderated by DIFF Artistic Director James Faust, who has provided programming leadership to the Dallas International Film Festival since its inception.
