Entertainment Marketing Executive Takes on Dallas Environmental Film Festival’

EarthxFilm has appointed Paul Levatino Executive Producer as the Dallas-based film festival begins the six-month countdown to the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day, which it will mark with ten days of environmental films from April 17 to 26, 2020. Levatino has more than 20 years of entertainment and marketing experience, including over a decade with GRAMMY® award-winning singer and actress Erykah Badu, as well as a host of production credits for activations, concerts, festivals, events, commercials, and videos.

“I met Paul 20 years ago while working with the Deep Ellum Film Festival when he was on the board,” said Michael Cain, President of EarthxFilm. “Since then, he’s become a proven force for bringing big ideas to life for artists, which is what we do at EarthxFilm as we honor and showcase the filmmakers bringing the big issues our planet faces to life on screen. His leadership, charisma, and collaboration will help our filmmakers and partners turn our environmental ambitions into reality.”

Most notably, Levatino was the Director of Marketing and Publicity, and Live Production Manager for Badu, eventually serving as General Manager of her all-encompassing company, Badu World, Inc. During this time, he supervised marketing and project management for critically acclaimed Universal/Motown releases NEW AMERYKAH PART I & II, and executed tour and production management for all live performances, including five world tours.

Levatino started PL Presents in 2007, co-promoting hundreds of brand activations, special events, and concerts with headliners such as Prince, Dave Chapelle, Mark Ronson, Queen Latifah, Jamie Foxx, Snoop Dogg, and the Thievery Corporation, among others.

Recently, Levatino was the Executive Producer to Suzy Batiz, dynamic business leader and co-founder of Poo-Pourri and supernatural, where he led successful marketing and product launches, concepted and produced innovative content, and coordinated high-profile event productions. Another credit includes serving as the experiential concept director for multi-national consumer engagement agency The Marketing Arm.

EarthxFilm was launched in 2017 at EarthX, and showcases the films and emerging media that explore science, conservation, climate change, and the environment while honoring the heroes working to protect our planet. The non-profit works to first heighten awareness, then turn that awareness into action through art and media by partnering with top environmental, film, and entertainment organizations across the globe.

Earthx2019 brought together record numbers of concerned environmental citizens, educators, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and thought leaders to celebrate global sustainability. The ninth annual EarthX event was the world’s largest gathering to positively discuss achievable solutions for environmental change. Earthx2020 will be held April 22 – 26, 2020 in Dallas, marking its 10th year and the 50th year of the original annual Earth Day celebration.

EarthX convenes the world’s largest environmental expo, conference and film festival, and is a member of IUCN, International Union for Conservation of Nature. Founded in 2011 as Earth Day Dallas by environmentalist and businessman Trammell S. Crow, the Texas-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization promotes environmental awareness and impact through conscious business, nonpartisan collaboration and community-driven sustainable solutions. In 2019, the event drew over 177,000 attendees, 2,000 environmental leaders, exhibitors and more than 400 speakers.
