American Airlines Invites AAdvantage Members to Make a Difference This Giving Tuesday

Written by American Airlines

Dec. 2 marks Giving Tuesday, and once again, American Airlines is inviting AAdvantage® members to help support its mission to care for people on life’s journey. Through American’s Let Good Take Flight platform, AAdvantage® members can support organizations that change lives, find cures, honor heroes and protect the planet.

Donating is simple. AAdvantage® members can log in to their account, navigate to the Donate page and select the number of AAdvantage® miles they wish to contribute.* Members can select as few as 1,000 miles to help support those who need it most.

AAdvantage® members willing to donate their miles can choose to support up to four key focus areas:

  • Social Good supports organizations such as the Red Cross, Feeding America and UNICEF to improve stability, fight hunger and provide basic needs or immediate relief for citizens in need across the world.
  • Global Health and Well-Being supports organizations such as the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Make-a-Wish and Stand Up To Cancer to raise awareness and funds, bringing treatments and hope to patients.
  • Heroes assists organizations like the Gary Sinise Foundation, USO and Medal of Honor Foundation to support veterans, military members and their families.
  • Our Planet assists organizations like the National Parks Foundation that protect and preserve the planet’s natural resources and contribute meaningfully to efforts to combat climate change.

“Giving Tuesday is all about giving back to our communities around the world. At American, we’re proud to join this global movement by partnering with nonprofit organizations that make the world a better place,” said Caroline Clayton, American’s Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. “We’re grateful for the generosity of our customers who help us make this happen year after year.”

To kick off the giving season, American team members recently came together to support the local Dallas-Fort Worth community through the Thanksgiving Mobile Market. In collaboration with the Tarrant Area Food Bank and the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic, the annual event brings together dedicated team members, community leaders and partners to feed thousands of families facing hunger.
