The special check presentation event brings locally raised funds back to DFW to support animals in need following recent Plush Puppy sales
Raising Cane’s gives DFW pets something to wag about! Following Cane’s recent Plush Puppy sales, which sold out in-Restaurant and online with local proceeds benefiting Cody’s Friends Rescue, Cane’s raised over $30,000 for the organization, whose mission is to save, rehabilitate and rehome dogs in need.
On Wednesday, Feb. 18 at 2:30 p.m., Raising Cane’s presented the funds to Cody’s Friends Rescue Founder and President Tina Austin, Co-Founder and Secretary Dan Schmidt and COO Sharyl Howard at the Addison Restaurant located at 4100 Beltline Road during a special check presentation event. Adoptable dogs from Cody’s Friends will be at the Restaurant for Customers to meet, cuddle and snap photos with too! The check presentation event celebrates the impact Cane’s Customers made together, turning a fun, limited-time collectible into meaningful support for pets and the people who care for them every day.
The recent Plush Puppy campaign, which ran from Nov. 19 through Dec. 31 last year, raised a total of $500,000 nationwide. $100,000 of those funds were donated to BISSELL Pet Foundation – a national organization dedicated to helping every pet find its forever home – with the remaining amount going directly to nearly 200 local pet welfare organizations across the country, including right here in DFW.
With yellow lab mascot Cane III, Raising Cane’s has always held a special place for pets. What began as a single Holiday Plush Puppy in 2006 has grown into a beloved Cane’s tradition, raising more than $10 million over the years to support animals in need. This check presentation continues that legacy, turning Community support into real impact for local pet welfare organizations.
