Plano-based Peloton announced today an exciting new partnership with singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran for the release of a first-ever series of Outdoor Walks featuring original audio content from Sheeran’s latest album Subtract. Only available on the Peloton App, the Outdoor Walks offered in varying lengths, feature Sheeran and Peloton Instructors Jon Hosking and Tobias Heinze. Unlike anything produced before at Peloton, the global collaboration unites both Members and fans of Sheeran through class content that offers a full album experience and connected, immersive and intimate storytelling.
“Movement has become an important part of my overall mental and physical health, especially when I was working on this album,” said Ed Sheeran. “Partnering with Peloton on this outdoor walk series has been really cool and I hope you enjoy experiencing Subtract in a unique way.”
Timed to the release of Subtract around May being Mental Health Awareness Month, and in an effort to meet Members wherever they are, Peloton is ramping up its content for Peloton Outdoor by giving Members a one-of-a-kind workout experience that combines music, movement and dialogue from Sheeran himself. Each class follows a similar format with introductions by Hosking, Heinze and Sheeran, who will welcome Members to join him in a musical journey through mindful and engaging, low-impact walks. Content features Sheeran sharing personal anecdotes about Subtract and mental health with the Peloton community. Classes are offered in lengths of 30 and 60 minutes, as well as a 30-minute German class featuring Heinze. The 60-minute class format will allow Members to have a complete album experience while they enjoy the outdoors, a first for Peloton.
With classes grounded in positivity and gratitude, Hosking is known for mixing unbeatable playlists, a wicked sense of humor and top fitness expertise to always ensure Members leave each workout with a bold sense of accomplishment and a smile on their face. While Heinze is known for being an exceptional athlete who helps Members get the best out of themselves and also grow mentally. Heinze’s 30-minute class offers unique, never-before experienced content to Peloton’s growing and engaged Member community in Germany.
“We’re embarking on a completely new way to collaborate with an artist with this drop,” said Gwen Bethel Riley, Peloton’s SVP of Music and Content Partnerships. “Ed Sheeran will bring his entire album to life with support from Jon Hosking and Tobias Heinze and take our Members on a fully loaded musical experience.”
The Ed Sheeran Outdoor Walks drop today on the Peloton platform, no equipment necessary, making the experience accessible to all. Classes can be accessed on the Peloton App, which new Members can sign-up to for a free 30-day trial period.* For more information and the latest class schedule visit www.onepeloton.com.
