Visit Bastrop and Augustine Agency Honored with 1st Place Texas Association of Convention & Visitors Bureau Award for PR Campaign

Visit Bastrop and its agency of record, Augustine Agency, have received a first place Texas Destination Excellence Award for its Public Relations Campaign at the 2022 Texas Association of Convention & Visitors Bureau (TACVB) annual conference in South Padre Island that took place Aug. 29 to Sept. 2.

Visit Bastrop partners with Augustine Agency for both public relations and creative services. The two collaborated on a public relations campaign to promote the various activities visitors can experience in the destination. As a result of this campaign, Visit Bastrop received coverage in outlets such as San Antonio Current, Time Out London, TravelAwaits, and Thrillist with estimated coverage views of more than forty-three million.

“It has been an honor to work alongside the Visit Bastrop team, putting the destination on the map and sharing such an experiential Texas town with the world,” said Debbie Augustine, Founder and Executive Creative Director at Augustine Agency. “Our goal with the campaign was to not only get Bastrop’s name in top-tier media outlets, but to highlight the various activities, lodging properties, restaurants and more that make Bastrop so special.”

Augustine’s approach to building Visit Bastrop’s brand awareness and increasing visitation has helped the destination become a leader in Texas tourism. Along with the TACVB awards for its public relations efforts, Visit Bastrop also took home two additional awards including Leisure/Tourism Marketing Campaign for its music-friendly initiative and Community/Local Engagement Promotion for its “Go! Bastrop Savings Card.”
