Republic Editorial Edits New Clorox Product Ad Campaign Starring Danny Trejo
During the pandemic, what brands can you name that had more demand than Clorox and other disinfecting products? Probably none. But despite the company making around a million canisters of disinfecting wipes each day, it was still a challenge to keep store shelves stocked. Recently, as many small businesses around the US began reopening to the public, the brand debuted its new product, The Clorox Turbo Power Sprayer, featuring actor and restauranteur Danny Trejo in its campaign. The sprayer uses an electric motor to disinfect a space quickly and easily, and is designed to address the cleaning needs of small businesses of all kinds, from beauty and nail salons, to gyms and restaurants.
The spot edited by Chris Gipson of Republic Editorial shows Trejo, owner of Trejo’s Tacos and Trejo’s Cantina, describing his fondness for “everything turbo” from turbo phone charging and coffee drinking to turbo disinfecting with The Clorox Turbo Power Sprayer. “Get it now, or I’ll come looking for you,” he says as the commercial ends.
“Reach Agency had a great idea using Trejo for this campaign” says Gipson, “Director Raul Fernandez and the team at Twenty Nine Black did a solid job executing on the boards, and Danny definitely brought the spots to life with his trademark energy. His voice, the opportunities for sound design and the dynamic camera moves made it really fun to edit.”
The campaign is set to appear on various social media.
