In the spring of 2016, few short months after AdChat DFW launched, I covered the Dallas ADDY’s 2016, and met Thomas McShane, VP & COO of Eighty-Three Creative. Thomas had a distinctive British accent and a genuinely likable personality that reminded me in a positive way of Russell Brand. I joked he must be Brand’s cousin, and the name “Russel Brand’s Cousin” stuck. I had yet to hear of Eighty-Three Creative, which meant nothing, as there are a multitude of agencies in DFW.
Fast forward one year, when AdChat covered the Dallas ADDYs 2017, I interviewed Thomas about the agency’s wins, and was completely “gobsmacked” to use a British term, when he casually mentioned Eighty Three Creative had won over 47 awards in the past year. What is this agency all about? I had to find out.
Thomas suggested I tour their office and offered to send a car for me. Thinking that was “brilliant,” I accepted and decided to document the experience on my iPhone. As you will see when you watch the video, Eighty Three Creative definitely has some nice digs. What you don’t see is the underlying culture of the agency that puts their employees first, ensuring their clients get the best from the creative teams. These “wholly caffeinated” folks work hard and smart to bring creative focus to client projects. In fact, the agency has satisfied customers such as AT&T, American Airlines, Greyhound, 400 Record, Lark And Olive, City Electric Supply, Sue Gragg, and Whitebox Real Estate.
I had fun meeting the team, touring the agency and getting the “chinwag” on what is making this full-service advertising agency one of the new up-and coming ones in DFW.
